Skunk Eviction Process
Safe, Permanent, and 100% Humane
My brother and I don’t believe in the stress of traditional cage trapping. Instead, we use a sophisticated One-Way Door System that allows skunks to leave your home on their own terms but prevents them from ever getting back in.
Step 1: The Brother-Led Inspection
We start by walking your property together to identify the skunk’s main “front door” (usually under a deck, shed, or crawlspace). We also find every other potential gap they might try to use once they realize they’ve been locked out.
Step 2: Securing the Perimeter (The Barrier)
Skunks are master diggers. Before we install the door, we reinforce the area around the entry point with heavy-duty, galvanized steel screening. We “trench” this mesh deep into the ground to ensure that when the skunk tries to dig back in, they meet a solid, impenetrable wall.
Step 3: Installing the One-Way Door
We mount a custom-fitted one-way door over the main hole. This door is designed so the skunk can easily push it open to go out for their nightly meal, but it “locks” shut behind them. There is no cage, no stress, and—most importantly—no reason for the skunk to spray.
Step 4: Monitoring & Final Seal
We leave the door in place for several days to ensure the skunk (and any roommates) has successfully exited. Once we are 100% sure your home is clear, we return to remove the door and permanently seal the final opening with the same high-grade steel mesh.
